Univar Solutions and Dow have strengthened their strategic partnership to distribute advanced silicone additives for plastics and composites in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).
Univar Solutions has announced an expansion of its strategic partnership with Dow to distribute silicone additives for plastics and composites across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). The agreement builds on their longstanding collaboration and aligns both companies’ efforts to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions to manufacturers in the advanced materials sector.
Matthew Oliver, senior vice president of Performance Materials at Univar Solutions, emphasised the importance of the partnership: “Expanding into silicone additives for plastics and composites is a natural next step, allowing us to deliver advanced silicone technologies that help customers achieve performance and sustainability goals.”
Focus on sustainability and operational efficiency
The new distribution agreement will make Dow’s silicone additives more accessible to manufacturers in 30 countries, including Germany, the United Kingdom, and Türkiye. These additives are designed to enhance processing efficiency, durability, and resource conservation in plastics and composite applications. While Dow contributes its decades-long expertise in silicone innovation, Univar Solutions provides regional market knowledge, sales expertise, and robust technical support through its network.
Univar Solutions’ Essen Solution Centre will play a pivotal role in developing application-driven solutions for the CASE (coatings, adhesives, sealants, and elastomers), rubber, and plastics markets. This centre collaborates closely with suppliers like Dow, enabling the development of products tailored to the specific needs of regional markets.
Strategic alignment in advanced materials
The collaboration reflects broader trends in the specialty chemicals sector, where sustainability and performance are top priorities.
