PPG expands automotive coatings production in Southeast Asia
With a newly opened water-borne coatings plant in Thailand, PPG responds to increasing demand for sustainable automotive solutions in Southeast Asia. The facility is part of the company’s strategic focus on regional growth and localised support.
PPG has commissioned a new manufacturing plant for water-borne automotive coatings in Samut Prakan, Thailand. The facility, which was officially inaugurated on 20 March 2025, will enable the company to expand its local production of basecoats and primers. According to PPG, the move addresses a growing regional demand for coatings with sustainability advantages, including low VOC emissions.
With an annual production capacity of 2,000 tonnes, the plant features an automated spray application centre that enhances PPG’s service capabilities and strengthens its global position in the automotive coatings segment.
