Orion strengthens its presence in South America: Reciend will be its new distributor in Peru
The specialty chemicals manufacturer Orion has appointed the Reciend Group as its new distributor for its specialty carbon black products in Peru. The long-standing cooperation in Colombia will form the basis for the expansion of activities in the Andean countries.
Orion, a global supplier of specialty carbon blacks based in Houston, has announced that it will also use the Reciend Group as a distributor for its specialty carbon black product lines in Peru in the future. Reciend has been the company’s distributor in Colombia for over 20 years. Now, the collaboration is to be extended to the Peruvian market.
Eduardo Belisle, Technical Business Manager at Orion, emphasises that Reciend’s technical expertise and market experience in particular will play a crucial role in expanding the market: ‘The commitment with which Reciend has developed the Colombian market will also be key in Peru – especially for applications in coatings and plastics.’
Expansion of market presence in the Andean countries
The expanded collaboration is also seen as a strategically important signal by Reciend. According to Alejandro Mejía, Chief Strategy Officer of Reciend, the partnership opens up the opportunity to strengthen the service portfolio in Peru. The aim is to offer innovative solutions in various industry segments – including paints and coatings, plastics, printing applications and battery components – with an experienced team.
‘After decades of successful collaboration with Orion, we can now use our experience to create added value for our customers in Peru as well,’ says Mejía. Reciend Group has a broad portfolio of functional ingredients and has established itself as a reliable provider of technical solutions, particularly in the Andean countries.
