Nippon Paint Holdings reorganises Japan subsidiaries
Nippon Paint Holdings has announced a restructuring of its Japanese subsidiary network, effective January 2027. The reorganisation will dissolve Nippon Paint Surf Chemicals and redistribute its surface treatment business across two other consolidated subsidiaries.
Nippon Paint Holdings (NPHD) has announced a reorganisation among its consolidated subsidiaries in Japan, scheduled to take effect on 1 January 2027. The restructuring involves the dissolution of Nippon Paint Surf Chemicals (NPSU) and the redistribution of its business operations across two existing subsidiaries: Nippon Paint Automotive Coatings (NPAC) and Nippon Paint Industrial Coatings (NPIU).
According to the announcement, the functions related to automotive surface treatment agents – excluding production functions – currently held by NPSU will be split off and absorbed by NPAC. The general industrial surface treatment agent business, along with all production functions of the surface treatment agent business, will be transferred to NPIU. Following the completion of these transfers, NPSU will be dissolved.
Integrated provision of surface treatment and coatings products
The stated aim of the reorganisation is to enable the integrated provision of surface treatment products and coatings products, which have previously been provided separately by each subsidiary. NPHD states that this new structure is intended to further strengthen product development and technical service capabilities, thereby enhancing competitiveness and customer satisfaction.
