European Coatings Show 2025 kicks off in Nuremberg
It’s finally here: The European Coatings Show 2025 officially opens its doors today in Nuremberg, welcoming thousands of industry experts and decision-makers from across the globe.
From 25 to 27 March 2025, Nuremberg becomes the global epicenter of the coatings and paint industry as the European Coatings Show (ECS) kicks off. With more than 1,200 exhibitors from over 60 countries, the show is setting a new record for international participation – over 70% of exhibitors come from abroad. Despite the ongoing economic challenges in the coatings sector, the mood is optimistic. Matthias Janz, Director Trade Shows Coatings at Vincentz Network, and Alexander Mattausch, Executive Director Exhibitions at NürnbergMesse, highlight the strong international presence and the show’s growing relevance.
The accompanying European Coatings Conference, which started yesterday, runs under the motto “Shaping tomorrow’s innovation”. The opening plenary session featured keynote speeches by Dr Frank Brouwer (Stahl) and Prof. Katja Loos (University of Groningen), setting the tone for the two-day event. With 24 thematic sessions and over 140 technical presentations, the conference provides deep insights into current research, sustainable technologies, and market trends.
A special highlight: Gaoyuan Zhang from Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences received the ECS Conference Award, presented by Damir Gagro, Director Content at European Coatings.
ECS 2025 is more than a trade show – it’s a hub for innovation, collaboration, and the future of coatings. Explore more about the event here.
