Asian Paints to invest EUR 217 million in new water-based coatings plant

Asian Paints, India’s largest paint and coatings manufacturer, is building a Greenfield facility in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The investment is valued at approximately EUR 217 million. The site will add an annual capacity of 400 million litres of water-based paints.

Once operational, the company’s total installed capacity will reach 2.6 billion litres. Land for the site has already been acquired, and regulatory approvals are currently underway.

Market demand and strategic relevance

The expansion is driven by rising demand, fuelled by government infrastructure projects and renewed growth in the automotive sector. Asian Paints currently maintains a dealer network of more than 165,000 partners, with several thousand added each year.

By focusing on water-based technologies, Asian Paints highlights the growing importance of sustainability and compliance with environmental standards, strengthening its competitive position in India’s coatings market.
