IMCD appoints Sami Valkama as global technical director for coatings and construction
IMCD has appointed Sami Valkama as global technical director for its coatings & construction business group, effective 12 January 2026. Sami Valkama combines this role with his current position as managing director of IMCD Nordics.
Sami Valkama joined IMCD in 2006 and has built close to two decades of experience in the coatings and construction markets. He started his career in Finland and has since held a range of senior roles across sales, technical management and regional leadership. His background combines strong technical know-how with practical commercial leadership.

He understands what it takes to turn great technology into real value for customers and suppliers, and he does that by working closely with teams on the ground.”
