Strategic Joint Venture: FP-Pigments and Power International to build facility in Abu Dhabi
FP-Pigments and Power International DMCC have announced a new joint venture to establish a manufacturing facility for pigments in Abu Dhabi. This strategic move strengthens FP-Pigments’ global presence and aims to enhance supply chain capabilities in the Middle East, Indian subcontinent and East Africa.
FP-Pigments, a global company in pigment technology, revealed its collaboration with Power International DMCC, a subsidiary of Bathwal Corporation, to form FP Power Pigments. This joint venture aims to construct a modern manufacturing facility in Khalifa Economic Zones (KEZAD), Abu Dhabi, dedicated to the production of advanced “Opacity Pigments”.
The facility, expected to be operational by early 2027, will focus on supplying high-performance pigment grades for coatings, plastics, and paper & board applications. The partnership is designed to cater to the growing demand across the Middle East, Indian subcontinent and East Africa. Commercial and marketing activities are set to begin in early 2026, ensuring customers in these regions gain access to locally produced, sustainable, and cost-efficient pigment solutions.
Expanding a global manufacturing Network
This development is a key step in the pigment producer’s global growth strategy. Currently operating facilities in Leuna, Germany; Valkeakoski, Finland; and Rome, Georgia (USA), the company aims to strengthen its manufacturing footprint across three continents. The Abu Dhabi facility will enhance its ability to serve regional customers while reducing logistical complexities and improving sustainability in the supply chain.
The collaboration with Power International DMCC pairs the pigment producer’s technological expertise with Power International’s industrial capabilities and strong regional footprint. This synergy ensures the delivery of high-quality pigments tailored to local market needs while leveraging the strategic advantages of KEZAD as a manufacturing hub.
