Brenntag and Calyxia sign global distribution agreement for microencapsulation technologies

Brenntag Specialties and Calyxia have agreed on a global distribution partnership to expand the availability of microencapsulation technologies in coatings and Advanced Materials markets. The agreement covers the Americas, China and selected EMEA regions and is intended to improve access to advanced solutions for industrial and speciality coatings.

Calyxia’s technologies are based on controlled release mechanisms that support precise dosing of functional additives within coating systems. They are targeted at demanding CASE applications and composite materials requiring stable formulations and consistent performance.

Strengthening supply chains for CASE coatings

Brenntag states that the collaboration will enhance access to microencapsulation technologies across its global Material Science markets. The agreement offers formulators additional options to optimise coating and resin systems. It also builds on an existing cooperation between the two companies in Beauty & Personal Care.

Calyxia emphasises that the combination of Brenntag’s global market reach and its own technical expertise will accelerate international deployment. The companies expect advantages for applications that rely on energy-efficient, solvent-free or highly durable coating systems.

Focus on Advanced Materials development

Microencapsulation enables protected, controlled release of additives, supporting precise adjustment of material properties in technical coatings and composite materials. The technologies are suited for industrial applications requiring abrasion resistance, processing stability or reliable curing behaviour.

Through the agreement, Brenntag and Calyxia aim to strengthen their position in the expanding Advanced Materials sector and support innovation in global coatings and composite markets.
