On 7 October 2025, Royal Talens officially opened its new headquarters and production facility at Laan van de Stier in Apeldoorn. The event was attended by employees, partners, and representatives from business, politics, and local administration.

Speakers included Ronald Benning (CEO, Royal Talens), Hans Bax (Supervisory Board), architect Freek Bronsvoort, Ton Heerts (Mayor of Apeldoorn), and Teiichi Nishimura, Chairman of Sakura Color Products Corporation, the company’s Japanese parent. During the opening, six art panels created by Melle Meinhardt (FabriekFanatiek) were presented, followed by a tour of the new building.

Sustainable design and energy-efficient operation

The new building was constructed in accordance with current sustainability standards and has achieved BREEAM Excellent certification. It operates without natural gas and is powered by 1,500 solar panels. A ground-based heat and cold storage system regulates temperature, while rainwater infiltration and native vegetation contribute to a balanced environmental design.

According to CEO Ronald Benning, the new facility allows for more efficient paint production and improved collaboration across departments.

Optimised production processes

The production area is almost twice the size of the previous facility, enabling larger production volumes and reducing the need for transport and packaging. New machinery, a fully automated paint production line, and a water purification system have been installed to ensure consistent product quality and efficient operations.

Located on the outskirts of Apeldoorn, the new site also helps reduce heavy transport through the city centre and provides space for future expansion.
