PPG has appointed Joe Gette as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. He will succeed Anne M. Foulkes on 1 January 2026, who will retire but remain with the company in a transitional role until August 2026.
Coatings manufacturer PPG has announced the appointment of Joe Gette as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. Currently serving as Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Secretary, the 53-year-old will take over from Anne M. Foulkes, who is retiring. Foulkes will continue as Senior Vice President for legal and special projects until the end of August 2026 to ensure a smooth handover.
In his new position, Gette will join PPG’s operating and executive committees, reporting directly to Chairman and CEO Tim Knavish. Knavish praised Gette’s extensive experience within the company and his role in advising on numerous acquisitions and divestitures.
Extensive experience within PPG
Gette joined PPG in 2005 as Assistant Counsel and has since held positions of increasing responsibility, including lead transaction lawyer for mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and oversight of securities and commercial legal matters across North and South America. Since 2022, he has served as Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Secretary, with responsibility for corporate development activities.
Before joining PPG, Gette worked for law firm K&L Gates in Pittsburgh. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Allegheny College and a law degree from Vanderbilt University.
