Jotun reports revenue and profit growth in early 2025
Norwegian paints and coatings manufacturer Jotun recorded higher revenues and earnings in the first four months of 2025, with all regions and product segments contributing to growth.
From January to April 2025, Jotun posted total operating revenue of NOK 11,376 million, up 4 % from the same period last year. Operating profit reached NOK 2,442 million, an increase of 2 %, while profit before tax rose by 26 % to NOK 2,444 million. According to President and CEO Morten Fon, sales increased across all geographic regions and product segments.
Although the overall performance was strong, revenue growth was slower than in previous years. The paints and coatings sector is showing signs of slowing in some markets, yet Jotun continued to gain market share. Fon emphasised the need to focus more on cost development and efficiency going forward.
Global production network provides resilience
Jotun operates a large network of factories worldwide, which Fon said offers stability in times of geopolitical uncertainty. However, rising tariffs could restrict trade and slow industry growth.
Despite these challenges, Jotun remains well positioned for continued profitable growth and is committed to its long-term strategy and investment plans.
