Ystral expands pilot plant capacity at its headquarters in southern Germany
Machinery and plant manufacturer Ystral is investing around EUR 1.8 million in a new pilot facility in Ballrechten-Dottingen. The new building will increase testing capacity and provide additional analytical capabilities for mixing and dispersing processes.
German process equipment specialist Ystral is expanding its facilities at its headquarters in Ballrechten-Dottingen (Baden-Württemberg) with a new pilot plant. The investment, totalling approximately EUR 1.8 million, is a response to the high utilisation of the company’s existing application and development laboratories. The new centre is scheduled for completion by the end of October.
The expanded site will enable Ystral to conduct more customer trials under optimised conditions. Clients will not need to be present in person, as remote participation will be possible via livestream. “The new pilot centre is a major step forward for our company – it’s where we come together with our customers to develop solutions,” said Peter Manke, Managing Director and co-owner of Ystral.
Analytical tools and training opportunities
The new facility will give industrial users the chance to test Ystral’s mixing and dispersing technologies, train their operators, and use the pilot installations for method and product development. Trials with flammable or potentially explosive substances will also be possible.
A broad range of analytical equipment will be available. A light microscope allows samples to be examined in detail, while density measurements and particle size analyses via dynamic light scattering can also be carried out. Viscosity can be measured using various methods, with or without temperature control, and flow curves at different shear rates can be recorded. Ystral thus positions itself as a full-scope development partner for processing applications.
