During this year’s EuPIA Annual Conference, Nicolas Wiedmann, CEO of Siegwerk Druckfarben, was appointed chairman of the European Printing Ink Association (EuPIA) for a two-year term. Heiner Klokkers, CEO of Flint Group’s Publications Division and Packaging Ink Europe, will serve as the new vice-chair. Wiedmann takes over from Mehran Yazdani (Sun Chemical), who expressed his gratitude for the support received during his term and will continue contributing to EuPIA as a Council member.

In his opening remarks, Wiedmann emphasised the importance of EuPIA as a key voice for the printing ink industry in Europe. He underlined his intention to continue advocating for policy frameworks that foster innovation, while supporting the development of safe, sustainable and visually appealing printed products.

Continuity and new momentum for the industry

By electing Wiedmann, EuPIA is signalling both continuity in its strategic focus and openness to fresh impetus in response to evolving regulatory and societal expectations. The coming years are expected to bring both challenges and opportunities, particularly in the areas of sustainability, circular economy and digitalisation.

Wiedmann announced his intention to work closely with EuPIA member companies and the internal team to ensure the European printing ink industry remains competitive. EuPIA represents the interests of leading manufacturers of printing inks, particularly those active in the packaging and publication sectors.
