Brazilian-based coatings and industrial solutions manufacturer WEG has announced the opening of new facilities in the United States as part of its strategic growth in the North American market. The expansion includes a coating manufacturing site and distribution centre in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, as well as a newly inaugurated distribution centre in Duluth, Georgia.

According to Rafael Guerreiro Torezan, Managing Director of WEG Coatings, these developments reflect the company’s focus on sustainable growth and operational optimisation. “By combining local production, specialised technology, and more efficient logistics, we are expanding our capacity to serve different industrial sectors with high-performance solutions,” Torezan stated.

Focus on specialised coatings for critical applications

The Manitowoc facility will be dedicated to manufacturing Heresite Protective Coatings technologies. These coatings are designed for demanding applications such as HVAC systems, oil and gas facilities, and water treatment infrastructure. By producing these high-value-added solutions locally, the company aims to improve supply chain resilience and better meet the needs of industrial customers across the region.

Complementing this, the distribution centre in Duluth, Georgia, strengthens WEG’s logistics network, ensuring greater product availability and shorter delivery times for its coatings portfolio. The centre will serve as a hub for distributing industrial coatings, anticorrosive solutions, and products tailored to high-demand applications.

Strategic logistics expansion in North America

The new distribution centres are positioned to improve proximity to key consumer hubs, enhancing WEG’s ability to serve the U.S. market efficiently. The Duluth facility, in particular, supports the commercial expansion of the coatings operation by acting as a strategic logistical node for both existing and emerging customer needs.

These investments are expected to bolster WEG’s presence in the industrial coatings sector, providing solutions that meet the growing demand for durability, sustainability, and specialised performance in critical industries.
