Wacker Chemie has officially begun producing hybrid polymers at its site in Nünchritz, Saxony. The new high-speed facility, currently in its ramp-up phase, will gradually replace the company’s existing production line in Burghausen. The investment for the new unit is in the double-digit million euro range.

Hybrid polymers serve as binders for high-performance adhesives and sealants, and are increasingly used in construction and assembly adhesives, parquet adhesives, and liquid waterproofing systems for roofs and balconies. The rising demand for high-quality binder systems is driving the need for increased production capacity.

Advanced integration and scalable capacity

The new facility features several technical innovations. Key process steps are highly integrated within the building, ensuring short distances and continuous, efficient production workflows.

The plant has also been designed with expansion in mind, allowing Wacker to respond flexibly to future market developments. With this move, the company strengthens its position in the market for advanced adhesive and sealant technologies.
