Visco Tec, a global specialist in dosing technology, has announced the acquisition of its long-standing distribution partner MEI Representaciones, based in Querétaro, Mexico. Effective 23 January 2026, the acquisition establishes the newly formed Visco Tec Mexico branch, further solidifying the company’s strategic expansion into North and Central America.

Mexico, recognised as one of the most dynamic growth markets globally, plays a pivotal role as a production hub for the US and other international markets. With the establishment of a local branch, the company aims to streamline supply chains and improve customer service for industries such as electronics, e-mobility, automotive, food, cosmetics, and aerospace. This move aligns with the dosing technology supplier’s strategy to enhance its market presence and operational control in economically significant regions.

Strengthening local expertise and operations

Héctor Bravo Ontiveros, who has been instrumental in developing Visco Tec’s presence in Mexico over the past decade, will serve as managing director of the new branch. Bravo, who studied and worked in Germany before joining MEI, expressed his enthusiasm for the transition. “We are convinced of the company’s technological strength, appreciate the people behind it, and admire its corporate culture. We are therefore much delighted to now be part of the Visco Tec family and to continue the successful development of the company together with our new colleagues,” he stated.

The existing team of nine employees from MEI will be seamlessly transferred to the new organisation, ensuring continuity in operations and customer relationships. Founded in 1985, MEI has established itself as a reliable partner in the region. For over a decade, the company was supported by Visco Tec America, laying the groundwork for this strategic consolidation.

The branch’s location in Querétaro, a central hub for manufacturing industries, positions the company to meet increasing demand from high-growth sectors such as aerospace and e-mobility. Franz Kamhuber, Managing Director of Visco Tec, highlighted the significance of this development. “With the acquisition of MEI, we are creating a direct basis for sustainable growth in one of the most important production locations in North and Central America,” he explained.

This expansion reflects broader industry trends of localisation and efficiency in supply chain management, particularly in regions with robust industrial growth.
