Seeing and being seen
The VSLF’ efforts not only include strengthening training and education but also creative measures such as a stand-up paddle competition organised to make people aware of the coatings industry and the educational options in the field.
To my mind, those seemingly “small” gestures are also very important. In addition to watching out for skilled personnel – actively looking for and training personnel and furthering education – being seen is also crucial. Especially as the coatings industry itself and the educational options within the field are unfortunately often not as well-known as many other industries.
What do you think could be done to better advertise the coatings industry? And how does your company look for skilled personnel?
