Iron oxide pigment specialist Oxerra has broken ground on a new 120,000 square-foot (approximately 11,150 m²) warehouse at its Augusta, Georgia facility. Located at 1895 Doug Barnard Parkway, the warehouse will serve as a dedicated regional distribution centre, further enhancing the company’s logistics capabilities across the United States. Completion is expected in January 2026.

According to Kevin Miles, CEO of Oxerra Americas, the new facility underscores the strategic importance of the U.S. market. “This move bolsters our company’s distinguished reputation as the U.S. supplier with the largest distribution network and inventory,” he said. The investment is intended to improve supply chain reliability, provide more flexibility, and offer faster service to a growing customer base.

Sustainable design and continued operations

The warehouse will be built using environmentally friendly materials and energy-efficient lighting systems. Oxerra is also aiming for LEED certification and plans to install solar panels to reduce the site’s carbon footprint. Pervious pavers will be used in parts of the car park to reduce surface runoff and support groundwater recharge.

Throughout the construction phase, the existing operations at the Augusta facility will continue with minimal disruption. Oxerra sees the project as a long-term commitment to maintaining its leading role in the U.S. pigment market and preparing for future growth.
