ATP launches North American operations with new solvent-free adhesive tape plant in South Carolina

Swiss adhesive manufacturer ATP Adhesives has launched ATP North America and will invest USD 70 million in its first solvent-free tape manufacturing facility in Columbia, South Carolina. The 127,000-square-foot plant will create 130 jobs and begin production in July 2026.

ATP Adhesives has announced the launch of ATP North America, establishing a dedicated business to serve the United States and Canadian markets. The company is investing USD 70 million in a new solvent-free adhesive tape manufacturing facility in Columbia, South Carolina. Covering 127,000 square feet, the plant will create 130 jobs and is scheduled to start production in July 2026.

The new site is designed to offer shorter lead times, a more resilient supply chain and local product development capabilities. It will also enable close collaboration on trials and scaling for solvent-free adhesive tape systems.

“Establishing ATP North America and building our first U.S. manufacturing facility is a strategic move to accelerate our growth in the United States,” said Dirk Henke, managing director and head of ATP North America. “We are combining German and Swiss engineering with American manufacturing to provide faster service and secure supply.”

ATP aims to help manufacturers reduce costs and improve sustainability with solvent-free adhesive technologies made closer to their point of use.
