Akzo Nobel has expanded its partnership between its Marine Coatings business and Chinese shipping company Winning Shipping. The companies have worked together since 2016, with the latest agreement covering additional drydocking projects scheduled for 2026.

Under the agreement, Akzo Nobel will supply coating systems for six vessels to support improved operational efficiency and reduced fuel consumption. The collaboration aligns with international emission reduction regulations and China’s efforts to advance decarbonisation in the maritime sector.

Supporting efficiency targets in maritime operations

Shipping companies are increasingly implementing measures to reduce their carbon footprint and improve energy efficiency. Within this context, Akzo Nobel provides coating solutions designed for deep-sea vessels, aimed at lowering hull resistance and supporting more efficient fleet operation.

The agreement was signed during Marintec China 2025, a major international maritime industry exhibition. Both partners view the extended cooperation as a step toward meeting evolving regulatory and operational requirements in global shipping.
