Don’t miss the deadline: REACH Pre-registrations
The next REACH phase entails a registration for companies that either produce substances in amounts between 1 and 100 tons or import them into the European market. This registration has to be completed until May 31, 2018. However, the prerequisite for a registration is that a substance is pre-registered first – the deadline here is May 31 this year.
A pre-registration is free of charge and does not oblige to a registration later. Companies that are still unsure if they are manufacturing or importing a substance after May 31, 2018, should pre-register it nonetheless.
If the deadline for pre-registration is missed, a substance has to be registered before manufacture or import and cannot be manufactured or imported until the process is completed.
