MC-Bauchemie establishes new joint venture in Paraguay
MC-Bauchemie has expanded its presence in Latin America with the foundation of MC-Bauchemie Paraguay, a joint venture with local construction chemicals partner Plastizil. The new company was officially incorporated in Asunción.
MC-Bauchemie, headquartered in Bottrop, Germany, has founded MC-Bauchemie Paraguay as a joint venture together with Plastizil, a Paraguayan construction technology company with more than five decades of experience. The new entity was officially established on 29 June 2026 in Asunción and marks the transition from a distributor relationship to a direct market presence in Paraguay.
The foundation builds on a long-standing partnership between the two companies. Jaques Pinto, Regional Director LATAM at MC-Bauchemie, commented: “The founding of MC-Bauchemie Paraguay is an important step in our growth strategy for Latin America. By combining MC’s international technology and expertise with the experience and strong market network of our local partners, we are creating a solid foundation for sustainable growth and more intensive customer support in Paraguay.”
Construction sector drives growth in Paraguay
MC-Bauchemie Paraguay commenced operations with existing local infrastructure for warehousing, production, and laboratory activities, supported by a dedicated local team. Gabriel Zillich (46) has taken on the role of General Manager, while Luis Zillich (71) has been appointed Managing Director. The new company is part of the MC LATAM region under the regional management of MC-Bauchemie Brasil, with the local management team reporting to Jaques Pinto.
Paraguay’s construction sector is cited as a key driver of growth, supported by economic stability, infrastructure development, urbanisation, and rising industrial investment. Pinto stated: “Construction has become one of the most important growth drivers of the Paraguayan economy. MC-Bauchemie Paraguay is well positioned to support the market as a technology partner and to offer durable, efficient, high-quality, and sustainable construction solutions.”
Expanding the Latin American network
MC-Bauchemie entered the South American market at the beginning of the millennium, establishing a subsidiary in Brazil more than 20 years ago. In subsequent years, further companies were founded in Chile, Bolivia, and Peru, among others. With the incorporation of MC-Bauchemie Paraguay, the group states it is now represented by its own subsidiaries in almost all major South American countries.
MC-Bauchemie describes itself as one of the internationally active manufacturers of construction chemicals products and technologies. The group employs more than 3,500 people in more than 50 countries and has been active for over 60 years in areas including concrete treatment and the protection and maintenance of structures.
