BASF sets the course: two board mandates extended until 2030

The Supervisory Board of BASF SE has extended the appointments of Dr Katja Scharpwinkel and Anup Kothari as members of the Board of Executive Directors until the end of the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting 2030.

Dr Katja Scharpwinkel (56) is member of the Board of Executive Directors of BASF as well as Industrial Relations Director and Site Director of BASF’s largest Verbund site in Ludwigshafen, Germany. In 2024, she was appointed as a member of the Board of Executive Directors. She is responsible for the divisions European Site & Verbund Management, Global Engineering Services and Corporate Environmental Protection, Health, Safety & Quality.

Anup Kothari (58) was appointed to the Board of Executive Directors of BASF in 2024. He is Chairman of BASF Corporation in the United States, a role he assumed in 2025. He is responsible for the segments Industrial Solutions and Surface Technologies.
