MC-Bauchemie establishes new company in Kenya
With the establishment of MC-Bauchemie Kenya, the MC-Bauchemie Group is continuing its growth trajectory in Africa. The new site in Nairobi is intended to serve as a production and competence centre for the region and to support the growing construction and infrastructure development in East Africa.
The MC-Bauchemie Group has further expanded its activities in Africa, opening a new chapter with the establishment of MC-Bauchemie Kenya in Nairobi. The new company was set up in March 2026 and will serve as a regional production and competence centre for East Africa. Shantanu Datta has taken over the management of the new company.
With this expansion, MC-Bauchemie underlines the strategic importance of the East African market. “Our local presence enables us to support the growing construction and infrastructure development in the region even more directly and to serve our customers better,” the company said. In addition to Kenya, neighbouring countries such as Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and South Sudan will also be served from the new site.
Nairobi as a regional production centre
The Nairobi site comprises a powder production plant and, in future, capacities for the liquid production of concrete admixtures, storage and logistics areas, as well as a modern quality control and research laboratory. In doing so, the company is creating the infrastructural conditions for even closer cooperation with local customers and partners.
Shantanu Datta, who has been with the company since 2020, will, as Managing Director of the new company, further expand MC-Bauchemie’s market presence in East Africa and develop new business opportunities. Datta has extensive experience in the region, including through his work as Business Development Manager for Africa, where he was already involved in setting up new companies in Tanzania and Egypt.
