Swiss-based construction chemicals and solutions provider Sika has reached an agreement to acquire Finja, a prominent Swedish manufacturer of dry mortars, floor levelling compounds, and facade systems. Established in 1957, Finja is known for its high-performing product range, efficient manufacturing sites, and innovative digital tools. The acquisition is expected to strengthen Sika’s presence in the Nordic market, enhance its customer reach, and accelerate growth opportunities.

Finja operates two advanced production sites strategically located near Sweden’s major economic centres, ensuring reliable deliveries and offering significant capacity for expansion. With annual sales of approximately EUR 58 million, the family-owned company is recognised for its contributions to sustainable construction, including low-carbon mortars and solutions tailored for cold climates. The acquisition will enable Sika to broaden its product offering, leveraging Finja’s expertise and distribution network to serve a wider customer base, including contractors, architects, and distributors.

Complementary portfolios and expanded production capacity

The integration of Finja’s product portfolio with Sika’s existing offerings creates substantial cross-selling opportunities and positions Sika as a key supplier across the Nordics. Finja’s strong customer base and presence in major trade and retail distribution channels will allow Sika to expand its reach and provide customers with a one-stop shop for construction solutions.

Additionally, recent investments by Finja in its production sites have increased efficiency and scalability. Sika plans to utilise this expanded capacity to meet growing demand for locally produced solutions, further strengthening its position in Sweden and neighbouring Nordic countries.

Strategic growth and innovation

The acquisition of Finja complements Sika’s recent purchase of Marlon in Denmark, enabling comprehensive coverage of the mortar segment across the Nordics. Finja’s advanced digital planning tools, such as solution selectors and environmental product declaration (EPD) calculators, will further enhance Sika’s offerings, supporting sustainable construction and project efficiency.

By combining Finja’s expertise in innovative solutions with Sika’s global reach, the company aims to create a strong platform for growth across various market segments. Regulatory approvals for the transaction are pending, and the acquisition is expected to be finalised in the first quarter of 2026.
