Lars Wallstein named CEO of Oqema
Oqema Group has announced the appointment of Lars Wallstein as Chief Executive Officer, starting 1 July 2026.
Wallstein will join the executive team alongside Chief Operating Officer Philipp Junge and Chief Financial Officer Hartmut Kunz. He succeeds Patrick Barthels, who will support the leadership transition during a six-month handover period before assuming a new role as Regional President of the Flavors & Fragrances division starting 1 January 2027.
The new CEO brings extensive expertise to the role, having worked in the chemical distribution industry for over 25 years. Most recently, he served as Managing Director at IMCD, overseeing operations in Germany and select international markets. His experience includes driving strategic business development, managing acquisitions, and leading international teams. Additionally, Wallstein is President of the European Association of Chemical Distributors (FECC), highlighting his deep industry connections and commitment to advancing the sector.
Wallstein expressed enthusiasm for his new position, stating, “I am very much looking forward to this new role and the opportunity to help shape and develop Oqema further. The company’s culture and consistent growth over recent years have made a lasting impression on me.”
