Ystral inaugurates new technical centre
Machinery and plant manufacturer Ystral has invested in a new technical centre at its headquarters near Freiburg, Germany. The modern facility enables extensive trials, training and product development for customers worldwide – including innovative analysis methods and live-streaming technologies.
Mixing technology company Ystral officially inaugurated a state-of-the-art technical centre at its headquarters in Ballrechten-Dottingen near Freiburg, Germany. Built in just twelve months, the new trial facility was constructed in a compact cube design on an area of 150 square metres. The facility allows Ystral to process a broader range of raw materials and support customers worldwide in developing and optimising their products and processes.
The new technical centre is particularly relevant for companies in the chemical, paint and coatings, food, pharmaceutical, cosmetics and battery manufacturing sectors. In addition to product and process development, customers can train their operating staff on Ystral’s mixing, dispersing and powder incorporation machinery. Uwe Klaumünzner, Head of Development and Trials at Ystral, emphasised the importance of the facility: “Our experience shows that almost every trial conducted in our technical centre results in collaboration.”
ATEX-compliant technology for demanding substances
A special focus of the facility is on trials with flammable and explosive substances. The new trial site complies with legal requirements for explosion and water protection, and all machines used are ATEX-compliant. Customers can monitor the trials either on-site or remotely via live stream.
In addition, Ystral offers extensive analysis options in its in-house laboratory. Samples can be examined using light microscopes and dynamic light scattering. Density measurements, viscosity analyses, and the recording of shear rate curves are also part of the technical centre’s service offering.
Outlook: Potential for expansion
The technical centre has been deliberately designed with the potential for expansion. An adjacent vacant area provides space for an additional trial facility should demand increase. “Given our current company size, we are well-equipped with our existing trial sites,” explained Peter Manke, Managing Director and co-owner of Ystral. “However, we have planned our new technical centre from the outset to allow for expansion.”
The opening of the technical centre represents a milestone for Ystral, highlighting the company’s innovative strength and taking customer service to a new level. With this new facility, Ystral strengthens its position as a global supplier of efficient mixing technology and process plants.
