Sika opens five new production facilities in global growth markets
Sika strengthens its global market position with the opening of new plants in the USA, Argentina, Colombia, Bangladesh, and Tanzania. These investments boost production capacity and underline the company’s commitment to sustainable construction products and flexible supply chains.
The facilities have been designed to meet the specific requirements of their respective regions while supporting Sika’s goal of a more sustainable production process. Particular focus has been placed on technologies aimed at reducing water consumption and waste.
Sustainability and market strengthening: A global approach
In the USA, Sika opened a state-of-the-art concrete admixture plant in Haines City, Florida. This facility utilises the most advanced automation technology within Sika’s network and is expected to save approximately 8,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions by 2032. Argentina saw the inauguration of a new plant in Puerto Tirol, Chaco, producing dry mortar for the country’s northeast region, thereby enhancing Sika’s market penetration in the area.
In Colombia, a factory was opened in Cali, an important economic hub. The facility produces mortars, tile adhesives, and interior wall coatings, serving both the local and export markets. For Bangladesh, a rapidly growing construction and infrastructure sector, a site in Narayanganj was established to manufacture concrete admixtures and high-performance tile adhesives.
Strengthening presence in Africa
In Tanzania, Sika inaugurated a production facility in Mwanza, an economic growth centre and significant mining hub. The plant manufactures specialised mortars, grouting materials for mining, and grinding aids for cement production. Its strategic location enables the supply of neighbouring markets such as Burundi, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Sika’s investments in these new sites reinforce the company’s growth strategy, as highlighted in the “Sika Strategy 2028”. The expansion aims to strengthen market leadership in key regions, enhance supply chain reliability, and deliver sustainable solutions.
