Peter Lacke expands portfolio with powder coatings and boosts global presence with new production in Vietnam
German family-owned coatings manufacturer Peter Lacke is expanding its international footprint: the company has acquired Austria’s Solution-Lab GmbH to add powder coatings to its portfolio and establish a new competence centre in Marchtrenk. At the same time, it has opened a production facility in Vietnam to strengthen its business in South-East Asia.
Peter Lacke continues its growth strategy by investing in new technologies and international production sites. Through the acquisition of Solution-Lab GmbH in Marchtrenk, Upper Austria, the family-owned company is expanding into powder coatings. The newly founded Peter Lacke Austria GmbH will serve as the group’s competence centre for this technology. This makes Peter Lacke one of the few medium-sized suppliers able to offer both liquid and powder coating technologies from a single source. Owner David Peter emphasised that this approach enables technology-neutral consulting and ensures consistent colour matching across different materials and components.
The Marchtrenk site will play a key role in developing and manufacturing powder coatings for the entire group. Initial business development activities – particularly in the wheels segment – are planned for this year, with further application areas to follow as the technology is expanded internationally.
New Vietnam site strengthens South-East Asia operations
In parallel, Peter Lacke has started production at its new facility near Ho Chi Minh City. The site includes modern production lines, a laboratory with spray booth, quality control and warehousing. It will serve markets in Vietnam, Bangladesh and across South-East Asia. The official opening took place on 29 September 2025.
“With this new site in Vietnam, we can serve our customers in the region more efficiently and continue to grow our global presence,” said David Peter. The local team covers all core functions, from sales and production to quality assurance.
These strategic investments strengthen Peter Lacke’s position as an internationally active system supplier for liquid and powder coatings, reinforcing its ambition to deliver flexible, technologically advanced and sustainable coating solutions worldwide.
