Synthomer and Lummus join forces for acrylic acid esters technology
Synthomer and Lummus Technology have entered into a strategic partnership to license Synthomer’s proprietary acrylic acid esters technology worldwide. The collaboration aims to expand the acrylate monomers business and foster the use of bio-based feedstocks.
Synthomer, a supplier of highly specialised polymers and ingredients, and Lummus Technology, a provider of process technologies and energy solutions, have announced a strategic collaboration. At its core, the partnership focuses on licensing Synthomer’s proprietary acrylic acid esters technology through Lummus, opening up new market opportunities and meeting growing demand for high-performance acrylate monomers.
Synthomer contributes decades of operational expertise and technological innovation, while Lummus adds its global licensing capabilities and extensive customer network. Together, they will offer solutions for producing acrylic acid esters from a variety of raw materials, including bio-based feedstocks.
Expanding the acrylate monomers business
Rob Tupker, President Health & Protection and Performance Materials (HPPM) and Asia at Synthomer, called the agreement “a significant milestone for the acrylate monomers business”. Through the partnership, Synthomer’s technology will reach a broader market.
Lummus also emphasises the advantages of the collaboration. Chief Business Officer Romain Lemoine explained that the company is expanding its portfolio with a proven, high-value technology that addresses growing global demand. Customers will benefit from a comprehensive and flexible solution built on Synthomer’s decades of operational excellence and product knowledge.
