Ivano Zucchiatti, founder of Sicad, passed away at the age of 84. When he founded the company in 1972, it was a small business with a clear focus: to develop high-quality adhesive tape solutions. Over time, Zucchiatti built up the business into an internationally active manufacturer, shaping the company’s long-term direction for more than four decades.

A key milestone came in 1977 with the commissioning of the company’s first in-house coating line – a significant step that enabled more control over production processes and supported the development of technically specialised adhesive systems.

Focus on innovation and international presence

Under Zucchiatti’s leadership, the company expanded its technological base and diversified its product range to meet the demands of various industrial applications. This included investments in coating processes and infrastructure that supported sustained growth.

Over the years, Sicad established subsidiaries in several countries, including France, Croatia, South Africa and Brazil. Zucchiatti’s legacy is defined by a combination of innovation, long-term thinking and international vision – qualities that have left a lasting imprint on the adhesive technologies sector.
