Akzo Nobel nominates Dr Hans-Joachim Müller for the Supervisory Board
Dr Hans-Joachim Müller has been nominated for the Supervisory Board of Akzo Nobel. The decision is to be confirmed at the Annual General Meeting in April 2025. At the same time, the company will bid farewell to three long-standing Supervisory Board members.
Dutch paints and coatings manufacturer Akzo Nobel has announced the nomination of Dr Hans-Joachim Müller for its supervisory board. His appointment will be put to shareholders at the Annual General Meeting on 25 April 2025. Müller, currently chairman of the supervisory board at TIB Chemicals and a member of the supervisory board at Lanxess, has many years of experience in the chemical industry.
Commenting on the decision, Ben Noteboom, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Akzo Nobel, said: ‘With Hans-Joachim on board, we look forward to creating long-term value for all our stakeholders. He brings a wealth of scientific knowledge and experience in the chemical industry. We wish him every success in his new role.’
Change in the Supervisory Board
With the planned appointment of Müller, three long-standing members will leave the Supervisory Board at the same time: Patrick Thomas, who has been on the board and the audit committee since 2017, Dick Sluimers, a member since 2015 and chairman of the compensation committee, and Byron Grote, vice chairman and head of the audit committee, who has served on the supervisory board since 2014.
Noteboom thanked the outgoing members for their many years of service and their contribution to the company’s development: ‘We would like to express our sincere thanks to Patrick, Dick and Byron for their commitment and valuable work. They have played an essential role in a period of major change and helped shape the future of Akzo Nobel. We wish them all the best for the future.’
