Lightweight fillers: Safic-Alcan partners with Microsphera

Safic-Alcan and Microsphera have formed a strategic distribution partnership to improve access to high-performance hollow glass microspheres (HGMs) across Europe. The collaboration aims to support industries with innovative, lightweight solutions.

Safic-Alcan has announced a new pan-European distribution agreement with Microsphera, a manufacturer of  hollow glass microspheres (HGMs). The partnership, effective immediately, will enhance market accessibility and technical support for these lightweight fillers, which offer ultra-low density, superior thermal insulation, and high resistance to heat and chemicals.

Microsphera’s HGMs are available in precisely classified size ranges and densities, making them suitable for a wide range of applications, including construction, adhesives and sealants, paints and coatings, automotive, and aerospace. By integrating these materials into its portfolio, Safic-Alcan aims to provide manufacturers with more sustainable and efficient solutions.

Jean-Marie Schmuck, business development director for C.A.S.E. and industrial specialities at Safic-Alcan, emphasised the significance of the partnership: “We are thrilled to collaborate with Microsphera. Their HGM series is a valuable addition to our product portfolio, reinforcing our commitment to delivering innovative, sustainable solutions.”
