BASF Coatings: Jens Lühring to succeed Dr Uta Holzenkamp
Jens Lühring will take over as CEO of BASF Coatings following the closing of the transaction between BASF and Carlyle.
BASF Coatings has announced that Jens Lühring will be appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) once the transaction between BASF and the Carlyle Group has been completed. Dr Uta Holzenkamp will continue to lead BASF Coatings until the closing and subsequently ensure a seamless transition. The closing of the transaction, originally announced on 10 October 2025, is expected to take place in the second quarter of 2026.
“Having built a strong foundation for BASF Coatings with deep, longstanding customer partnerships, a strong and passionate global team, and market-leading innovative technologies, it is the right moment to hand over to Jens upon closing of the transaction.,” said Dr Uta Holzenkamp.
Jens Lühring, who has more than two decades of experience in carve-outs and business transformations, expressed his enthusiasm about the upcoming challenge: “I am honoured to take on this role at a pivotal moment for the company.
