1. Germany

Germany is represented by ten companies in the 2025 top 25 ranking – one fewer than the previous year due to the Grebe Holding being acquired by Kansai Helios. Nevertheless, Germany remains the clear leader. The following companies are listed along with their latest paint and coatings revenues:

  • BASF: EUR 4,300 million

  • Deutsche Amphibolin-Werke (DAW): EUR 1,276 million

  • Beckers Group: EUR 621 million

  • Brillux: EUR 550 million

  • Mankiewicz: EUR 506 million

  • Meffert AG Farbwerke: EUR 380 million

  • Sto: EUR 618 million

  • Mipa: EUR 270 million

  • Remmers: EUR 231 million

  • Frei Lacke: EUR 176 million

The German segment remains stable overall. Notably, Meffert reported revenue growth of +15.5%, and Mankiewicz grew by +5.86% – placing both among the fastest-growing companies in this year’s ranking.

2. The Netherlands

The Netherlands, as in previous years, is represented by two companies:

  • Akzo Nobel: EUR 10,711 million

  • Stahl: EUR 715 million

Akzo Nobel remains not only the largest company in the Netherlands but also the top-ranking coatings manufacturer in Europe. Despite market saturation, the company achieved a modest 0.4% increase in revenue.

3. Denmark

Denmark also maintains its position with two companies in the top 25:

  • Hempel: EUR 2,185 million

  • Flügger Group: EUR 296 million

Both companies recorded significant revenue losses: Hempel saw a –7.1% decline, while Flügger experienced the sharpest drop in this year’s list at –13.2%.

Other countries with a single company in the top 25

In addition to the top 3 countries, several others are represented by one company each:
