The annual meeting served as a platform for knowledge exchange and strategic discussion, with a strong international component. Notably, representatives from the Brasilian association ABRAFATI and the Portuguese association APT joined the event, promoting cross-border collaboration and dialogue on the industry’s global direction. Presentations covered a broad range of pressing topics including digital security, artificial intelligence, and generating business value—key themes not only at the national level but also within the broader international context. These discussions underscored the sector’s forward-looking approach to innovation and resilience.

Stability and Growth Amid Economic Uncertainty

Despite ongoing global economic uncertainty, the Spanish paint and printing inks industry has shown remarkable stability and growth. Sales in Spain increased by 0.7%, reaching EUR 2.02 billion in 2024. Export figures are particularly notable, having grown 6.9% over the past year to EUR 1.33 billion, representing a 74.7% increase over the last decade.

These results highlight Spain’s growing role as a reference point for innovation in paints and coatings. The industry’s ability to adapt—through cooperation, information exchange, and a strong focus on R&D—continues to drive progress in areas such as raw materials development and compliance with complex chemical regulations, including the challenge of tariffs and hazardous substances control.
