Leadership change at Krahn Chemie: Martin John appointed as new CEO

On June 1, 2025, Martin John will succeed Rolf Kuropka as CEO of the Krahn Chemie Group. The transition is part of a planned succession to ensure the company’s continued growth.

Krahn Chemie is restructuring its leadership: On May 1, 2025, Martin John will join the company’s executive management team before officially assuming the role of CEO on June 1. Rolf Kuropka, who has successfully led Krahn Chemie for over 13 years, will remain with the company in an advisory capacity following his departure.

Martin John brings more than 30 years of experience in the international chemical industry. He has worked for Hoechst, Süd Chemie, and Clariant across Europe, the USA, and China. Most recently, he led Clariant’s global additives business, focusing on the coatings and adhesives industries.

Continuing the Growth Strategy

With the new leadership, Krahn Chemie aims for continuity and further expansion. “I am excited to work with the dedicated Krahn Chemie team to grow the business further,” said John. Philip O. Krahn, CEO of the Otto Krahn Group, emphasized: “With Martin John, we have found an experienced and competent CEO to drive the company’s future development.”

Going forward, Krahn Chemie plans to expand its service and consulting offerings while placing greater emphasis on sustainability. Additionally, the company intends to leverage synergies within the corporate group more effectively to strengthen its international market position.
