Water-based paints and varnishes are environmentally friendly because they largely avoid the use of organic solvents. As a result, less volatile substances are released into the environment. The performance of water-based paints and varnishes is a recurring topic of discussion. In fact, they can easily compete with solvent-based products in many aspects. Today, for example, almost all interior wall paints are water-based. More challenging, however, are applications where strong corrosion protection or difficult application conditions are required.
