Validation of an alternative to benzophenone in elastomeric coating binders

Join Dow on October 19th at 3 pm CET for an exclusive, free webinar to discover the impact on paint properties when using a functional alternative to benzophenone in elastomeric binders for exterior coatings.

Dow functional binders may contain additive level (ppm) quantities of benzophenone to ensure an optimal balance between flexibility and Dirt Pick-Up Resistance (DPUR) of the formulation. Recently the EU Risk Assessment Committee (RAC) decided to classify benzophenone as a potentially carcinogenic substance (Carc. 1B), with this classification coming into force in November 2023.

Abstract

Validation of an alternative to benzophenone in elastomeric coating binders

Discover how a functional alternative compares to benzophenone when formulated in exterior elastomeric coatings. With the pending classification of benzophenone as a potentially carcinogenic substance (Carc. 1B), Dow scientists will present the detailed results of their studies examining the real-world impact of the functional alternative.
