About the Short Course

Decarbonizing the energy sector, renovating buildings, a “greener” economy and changing mobility to cleaner, cheaper and healthier forms of private and public transports are the main targets of the Green Deal.
According to the European Commission, 93% of Europeans see climate change as a serious problem, already 93% have taken at least one action to tackle climate change and 79% agree that taking action on climate change will lead to innovation.
However, does it mean the next level of administration and costs for the industry? That might be one perspective but will it lead to readiness for 2050 and beyond? Fore sure not. And now?
In this basic course, you will learn:
- What are the basic messages of the Green Deal, especially the part on greenhouse gas neutral 2050?
- What impact does it have on business, especially on mid-sized companies?
- How can I translate the “efforts” into “chances” to do business?
- What needs to be done becoming greenhouse gas neutral?

Speaker

Dr. Lars Luecke

Head of Technical Marketing, Harold Scholz

Lars Lücke holds a Ph.D. in organic chemistry and worked nearly two decades for the specialty chemical company Clariant. After several different roles as lab head in R&D of pharmaceutical intermediates and dyes and pigments, he came closer to customers as technical marketing manager for pigments and head of product management for additive masterbatches.
Lars is currently the director lab, innovation and technical marketing and member of management board at Harold Scholz, a 120 years old family-owned company. The company focuses on distribution of inorganic pigments (e.g. Bayferrox® and Colortherm® exclusively in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Benelux and Africa) and selling own products – mainly pigment preparations for the construction, coatings, paper, plastics and textile industry and some special applications.
