EC short course debond on demand
De-bonding-on-demand of adhesives: How does it work technically and who actually needs it?
About the Short Course
This seminar will explain various chemical mechanisms that allow debonding-on-demand of adhesives by an external trigger. Special attention will be given to applications in structural adhesives, while also addressing the limitations of this technique. In addition to the pure imparting of technical information, the seminar will also be used for the exchange of experience in order to describe concrete fields of application in more detail. In addition to adhesive formulators, the seminar is also aimed at raw material manufacturers and adhesive users.
After his study of chemistry at the University of Bremen and the completion of his dissertation in 1997 Dr. Matthias Popp worked for a medium-sized company in the field of textile coating. From 2000 to 2006 he was busy with the formulation and instrumental analysis of adhesives at the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Advanced Materials – IFAM in Bremen.
From 2006 to 2010 he was employed as a Product Development Specialist at 3M in the automotive and aerospace sector. Since 2010 Head of Adhesive Formulation at Fraunhofer-IFAM in Bremen.
