The VOC toolbox-for eco-friendly industrial coatings

Worldwide, the demand for environmentally friendly coatings continues to rise. Following in the footsteps of China, USA and Europe, Korea has now also embarked on this path. The “VOC toolbox” brings back freedom of design coatings formulator: It consists of newly developed binder technologies, co-binders, hardeners, specialty fillers and additives based on various chemistries.
Properties such as chemical and mechanical resistance remain at the expected high level thanks to these new ingredients. As there's no need to invest into new manufacturing and application equipment, the current setup can be used for these eco-friendly coatings. It is possible to create high-solid and ultra-high-solid coatings materials easily - or even non-VOC-formulations. This way, formulators can comply with future regulations on the use of organic solvents.
