About the Short Course

Non-ionic synthetic associative thickeners (NiSAT) are standard in the formulation of aqueous industrial as well as decorative formulations. No other thickener class offers the possibility to create the desired rheology of the final system to work during storage and in the different application modes. However, formulating with rheology modifiers utilizing this technology, requires some practical and chemical knowledge about the thickening mechanism. This short course will give an overview on the available NiSAT product classes and how they modify rheology. The influence of other ingredients in the formulation as well the efficiency will be discussed.

Udo Schonhoff works since 1995 in the coating additives industry. He has built in-depth knowledge on technical application and technical service of additives in many systems such as coatings, sealants, adhesives and construction as well as inks. Udo Schonhoff is 21 years with Elementis and is since 2018 working in his current position as "Technical Sales Manager" being responsible for the coating additives in the EMEIA region.
