Rheology of modern aqueous coating systems with associative thickeners
Non-ionic synthetic associative thickeners (NiSAT) are standard in the formulation of aqueous industrial as well as decorative formulations. No other thickener class offers the possibility to create the desired rheology of the final system to work during storage and in the different application modes.
About the Short Course
Non-ionic synthetic associative thickeners (NiSAT) are standard in the formulation of aqueous industrial as well as decorative formulations. No other thickener class offers the possibility to create the desired rheology of the final system to work during storage and in the different application modes. However, formulating with rheology modifiers utilizing this technology, requires some practical and chemical knowledge about the thickening mechanism. This short course will give an overview on the available NiSAT product classes and how they modify rheology. The influence of other ingredients in the formulation as well the efficiency will be discussed.
