Depositing functional inks

Friday, 20 April 2012

Functional materials are in the focus at the European Coatings Symposium "Novel developments for printing inks”.

The deposition of micro- and nano-particulate dispersions, so called "functional inks”, followed by a thermal activation allows the production of circuit boards, active and passive electronic devices, strain gauges, thermocouples and lightning applications. Dispersions of functional materials, like metals, alloys, dielectrics, ceramics and semi-conductors can be deposited directly on even non-conformal surfaces. Dr. Volker Zöllmer of Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Advanced Materials from Germany will present current developments in the formulation of functional materials for deposition purposes on May 15, 2012.
