Anti-icing coatings: New blog entry

Tuesday, 12 January 2010

Currently Europe is covered by snow and ice. Anti-icing coatings prevent build-up of ice in surface. Much research has been undertaken in terms of development of such functional coatings.

At the moment great parts of Europe are covered by snow and ice causing delays in traffic operations anywhere. Anti-icing coatings could prevent the build-up of ice on surfaces, e.g. on an aircraft. One pre-requisite for such functional coatings is superhydrophobicity. A lot of research has been undertaken in this respect. In our new blog entry you will find information on current research in anti-icing coatings and how they perform.
