Study on microcapsule-based self-healing anticorrosive coatings available

Researchers from the Technical University of Denmark and R&D Specialists from Hempel investigated the ways of reducing the size of poly(urea–formaldehyde) microcapsules, filled with linseed oil and intended for a microcapsule-based self-healing anticorrosive coating. The influence of microcapsules on epoxy coating performance was also studied.

How to add functionality to polymeric interfaces

Post-polymerization modification is a simple and effective method to add complex functionality to a polymeric interface. A wide variety of click reactions have been utilized as a means of post-polymerization functionalization on surface-bound polymers to tune interfacial properties, such as friction, wettability, and adhesion

Painting turns any surface into a lithium-ion battery

Sounds easy to do: Spray the layers of the paint and create a battery or a solar cell. Not depending on the surface. Thats what researchers developed now.
