EC Suppliers Hub: New presentation on polyaspartic technology

Wednesday, 6 May 2020

A few weeks ago the European Coatings Suppliers Hub was launched to present latest innovations to coatings manfucaturers in times of the corona pandemic, where personal meetings are difficult. A new presentation was just launched on the platform on novel polyaspartic technology.

The online presentation on novel polyaspartic technology.

The online presentation on novel polyaspartic technology.

Polyaspartic coatings are a well-established technology and are based on the reaction of an aliphatic polyisocyanate and a polyaspartic ester, which is an aliphatic diamine. This kind of coatings are are used today in a large variety of applications, e.g. coatings for steel and concrete towers and rotor blades of wind energy devices.

In the new presentation Thomas Bäcker from the company Covestro explains how novel polyaspartic coatings can help to match increasing requirements for better gloss retention of pigmented top coats, especially in applications like general industrial and railway coatings and ACE. Among other things, he explains how this technology leads to increased efficiency and reduced energy consumption in bodyshops with an reduced amount of fumaric acid diethylester (< 0,1 wt.-%).

Like all other content on the Suppliers Hub platform, the presentation is available for free, once you created a user account (also free of charge).
