Latest trends in PUR coating will be on the agenda of the European Coatings Conference"Polyurethanes for high performance coatings” on 25 and 26 September, 2012 in Berlin. Dirk Mestach of Nuplex Resins, The Netherlands, is one of the speakers and will talk about sustainable polyols for the flooring and construction markets.

The chemistry and use of both solvent-free and waterborne polyols that are derived from sustainable raw materials will be discussed. Even though these polyols can be used in a variety of coating applications, the use in polyurethane flooring and construction coatings is highlighted. Used in two or three pack coating systems, the resin floors are ideal for facilities where concrete floors are permanently exposed to water and chemical contamination. The coatings withstand high-temperature cleaning and mechanical abuse that can be caused by heavy traffic.
