Low molecular weight liquid epoxy resins enhance reactivity

SRT Synthetic Resin Technologies presents "Syspox ER 5007”. The monofunctionally reactively diluted modified A/F epoxy resin combines up to 60% higher reactivity and approximately 45% lower viscosity at 5°C, compared to other known liquid epoxy resins. With an initial viscosity of approx. 550mPa*s/25 °C, only 5,300mPa*s are measured at 5°C, the producer says. Thus the product offers the possibility of working easily with epoxy resin systems even at colder times of the year. The use in existing systems previously formulated with comparable resins does not require any change in mixing ratios. Working with the binder increases productivity in use and considerably extends the possible scope of formulation. Its other properties are comparable with those of the known monofunctional reactively diluted A/F epoxy resins established on the market.

Resin improves laying performance

Another new product is the monofunctionally reactively diluted modified A/F epoxy resin "Syspox ER 5009”. With a slightly higher reactivity and an initial viscosity of approx. 550 mPa*s/25 °C, its viscosity at 5°C increases to approx. 4,000mPa*s. The resin has better workability. This improves laying performance and opens up greater scope for formulators. The aim is to improve the general workability properties of epoxy resin systems. Compared with previously used liquid epoxy resins, the flat curve of increasing viscosity as a function of temperature makes for easier application and processing - all the way down to 5°C. At the same time, it retains all the other advantageous properties which make epoxy resins of this kind so useful. It can be substituted for similar resins without any need to adjust the mixing ratios.
